Besides my F9F-8 Cougar / F11F-1 Tiger combo and my Harrier II kits I also bought a Hasegawa 1/72 scale F-4 Phantom combo kit. I’m investing is three combo kits to start my scale modelling journey because I figure it’s better value for money, plus if I screw up one variation of the Phantom for example there’s always another spare one
Or maybe I’m just a cheapskate.
The box looks great, with clear side view of both Phantom variations. In fact the easiest way to compare the two variations is the box picture. Everything else looks pretty confusing to me right now.
Inside the box, both kits are identical but the plastic for one set was torn apart, probably due to the shipping process. All the parts seem to be included though, so no worries.
There’s only one decal sheet which contains two different sets of markings. So I’ll need to be extra careful when I’m putting on the decals if I want to be really accurate.
I’ve always loved the F-4 Phantom since I saw a similar Hasegawa kit at my friend’s home when I was just 16. The Phantom is also one of the best fighter jets of all time. Love it.
