1/72 Scale Aircraft Carrier Decks for My Model Aircraft

I was searching through the Internet today to find ready-made aircraft carrier deck sections to display the 1/72 scale aircraft I plan to build. I mean, if I’m going to build them wheels down I may as well display them in style. What I found was way too mind-boggling – an entire 1/72 scratch built aircraft carrier.

Here’s some pictures:

It took the modeller, Gabriel Suranyi, 19 years to build. Yes, nineteen years!

That’s really taking it to the extreme, but what I am looking for is just a flat, square piece of carrier deck section, preferably with some ground crew. If I can’t find any I guess I will have to build some myself, although I prefer to just buy some ready made kit and get on with it.

That diorama is amazing, way beyond the skills of most of us! Try Squadron, they should have small sections of aircraft carrier decks.

About 25 years ago, I saw a radio controled 1/72 scale model of a Nimitz-class carrier in a boat modeling magazine.

It was quite a sight !
